Your Wellbeing

WORK-LIFE INTEGRATION: PAID-TIME OFF (PTO), LEAVE OF ABSENCE AND WELLBEING RESOURCES

Wellbeing360 is OU Health’s framework for supporting every dimension of employee wellbeing. It reflects our commitment to invest in the whole person — supporting your physical, financial, growth, emotional and social wellbeing. This model guides how we create a culture where every team member can thrive personally and professionally.

THE FIVE DIMENSIONS OF WELLBEING

Together these dimensions form the foundation of Wellbeing360. A system to help every member live well, work well and grow well at OU Health.

PTO: Rest, Recharge and Be Present

Time away from work isn’t just a benefit — it’s essential to your wellbeing. Whether you need time to recharge, care for family, recover from illness or celebrate life’s important moments, PTO gives you the flexibility to be present when it matters most. Employees earn PTO based on hours worked, which can be used for vacation, illness or injury, personal matters and holidays.

PTO Facts: A few key things to keep in mind:

  • Available starting on your date of hire.
  • Earned each pay period based on hours worked.
  • Unused PTO accruals roll over from year to year, subject to a maximum based on your years of service.
  • After you reach the maximum balance, accrual will stop until you lower your balance.

PTO Donation: You may choose to donate PTO hours to an employee experiencing a medical emergency or major disaster, based on IRS guidelines — a meaningful way to support your colleagues in times of need.

PTO Cash-In: During annual Open Enrollment, you may elect to “cash in” some of your PTO hours for payment the following year. Specific timing will be communicated during Open Enrollment.

OU Health RECOGNIZES SIX HOLIDAYS ANNUALLY FOR WHICH PTO SHOULD BE UTILIZED:

New Year’s Day | Memorial Day | Independence Day | Labor Day | Thanksgiving Day | Christmas Day

*Calculations are based on a full-time equivalent of 80 hours per biweekly pay period (2,080 hours per year). If you work fewer hours each biweekly pay period, divide the “annual full-time hours accrual” applicable to your completed years of service by 2,080. If you work fewer than 80 hours in a biweekly pay period, your PTO accrual will be prorated.

Leave of Absence Benefits

Supporting you when life happens

Life brings unexpected challenges and transitions — from welcoming a new baby to recovering from illness or caring for a loved one. OU Health offers a variety of leave options to support you and your family during these important times. These programs are designed to help you navigate life events with peace of mind, knowing your job and benefits are protected while you focus on what matters most — your health, your family and your recovery.

Family & MEDICAL LEAVE ACT (FMLA): PROTECTING YOUR JOB WHEN YOU NEED TIME AWAY

OU Health complies with the federal FMLA, providing eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave for qualified reasons. Whether you’re caring for a family member or managing your own serious health condition, FMLA ensures you can take the time you need without jeopardizing your career. To apply for FMLA, contact OU Health’s company leave administrator, Sedgwick.

SHORT-TERM DISABILITY BENEFITS (STD): FINANCIAL SECURITY DURING RECOVERY

Your health and recovery come first. If you’re unable to work due to a covered illness, injury or disability, OU Health’s short-term disability benefits continue to pay all or part of your base salary for up to 26 weeks — giving you financial peace of mind while you heal and focus on getting better.

STD Eligibility

  • Benefits-eligible employees working at least 16 hours per week (.4 FTE).
  • Must be employed with OU Health for 90 days prior to the start date of the eligible leave.
  • STD benefits are based on your base salary/rate of pay as of the last day you were actively at work.
  • The 26-week benefit period includes a one-week waiting period before your salary continuation begins.
  • PTO cannot be used to supplement wages when receiving less than 100% benefit during weeks 7–26.
  • 401(k) contributions are paused during STD leave, as STD pay is not eligible under the 401(k) plan.
  • If available, PTO must be used during the 7-day waiting period.

OU Health offers up to six weeks of paid time away from work to support care for eligible family members.

Eligibility includes:

  • Benefit-eligible employees working a minimum of 16 hours per week (.4 FTE).
  • Must be employed with OU Health for 12 consecutive months prior to the start date of the eligible leave.

PFL provides 100% wage continuation based on your base salary or rate of pay as of the last active work day, for up to six weeks.

Your connection to the community strengthens your sense of purpose and wellbeing. OU Health provides paid time away from work each year to volunteer in the community —supporting causes that matter to you while making a positive impact. More information is available in PolicyTech or on the Community Relations and Strategic Programs’ Hub page.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE: TIME TO GRIEVE AND HEAL

Losing a loved one is one of life’s most diffi cult experiences. Bereavement leave provides up to five paid days away from work in the event of the death of an immediate family member and up to three days for an extended family member. Take the time you need to grieve, support your family and begin the healing process.

MILITARY LEAVE: HONORING YOUR SERVICE

In accordance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, OU Health offers Military leave to those who are called to or volunteer for active duty, Reserve or National Guard training. We honor your commitment to serving our country.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT AVAILABLE

Additional leave may be available. Employees should contact the leave of absence administrator, Sedgwick, to request a leave of absence. More information is available in PolicyTech on The Hub.

Taking time to heal isn’t just necessary — it’s an investment in your long-term wellbeing and your ability to return to work healthy and strong.
