Benefits Overview

Total Rewards is one of the ways OU Health is investing in you. Your Total Rewards include a broad range of benefits and programs to help you meet the changing needs of you and your family.

Now is the time to review your current benefits coverage and decide if you want to keep your 2024 elections or add/make changes for 2025.

To get you started, here’s an overview of the benefit programs that are included in your 2025 Open Enrollment choices:

Core Benefits

During Open Enrollment you can add, drop or make changes in the following “core” benefits:

  • Health plans: medical, dental and/or vision
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSAs): healthcare, limited purpose and/or dependent care
  • Health savings account (HSA): available if you enroll in medical plan HDHP 1 or HDHP 2
  • Supplemental insurance: accidental death & dismemberment insurance, additional employee, spouse and/or child life insurance, and long-term disability insurance*

*Part-time employees are not eligible to purchase long-term disability (LTD) insurance. Executives automatically receive company-paid LTD coverage equal to 66-⅔% of base salary, with a maximum monthly benefit of $25,000 in 2025.

Voluntary Benefits

During Open Enrollment you can add, drop or make changes in the following voluntary benefits. If you are currently enrolled in accident, critical illness and/or hospital indemnity insurance, you must “re-enroll” to continue any of those benefits in 2025.

  • Critical illness, hospital indemnity and/or accident insurance
  • Legal services plan

You can enroll during Open Enrollment or at any time during the year in:

  • Auto and/or home insurance
  • Pet insurance
  • Identity theft protection

Paid Time Off Cash-In Option

During Open Enrollment you can elect to “sell” (cash in) up to 40 hours of PTO if you meet both of these rules:

  • You have at least 40 hours in your PTO balance on the date of your election.
  • At least 40 hours remain in your PTO balance immediately after your election.

Payment of your eligible “sold” PTO hours will automatically be included in your paycheck dated Oct. 31, 2025. The payment will be based on 100% of your hourly pay rate as of Oct. 31, 2025 (or your hourly equivalent if you are a salaried employee).

If you miss the Nov. 18 deadline…

  • Your 2024 benefit coverage will continue in 2025 except for the flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and accident, critical illness and/or hospital indemnity insurance. You must enroll by Nov. 18 if you want any of those benefits for 2025.
  • If you have a “qualifying life event” during the year, you may be eligible to change, add and/or cancel your elections. Examples of qualifying life events include marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, or a change in your or your spouse’s employment status that affects your benefits eligibility. See Mid-Year Election Changes for more details.

2025 Benefits Open Enrollment is open to…

  • Full-time employees who work at least 30 hours per week.
  • Part-time employees who work at least 16 hours per week (.4 FTE).

Note: Eligible PRN employees will be notified individually of the opportunity to enroll in medical insurance only for 2025.

Eligible dependents include…
