Continuing Education Information

Supporting Learners

Understanding Your Education Benefits. We want you to make the most of your education benefits while understanding the guidelines that apply.

  • Program Participation: Eligible employees may only participate in one of the following OU Health education benefit programs per calendar year: Tuition Reimbursement, Tuition Assistance through Guild Education or the Nursing Degree Accelerator Program (DAP).
  • IRS Tax-Free Limits: The total combined amount of tax-free education assistance you can receive in any calendar year is $5,250. This is the maximum amount the IRS allows without it being included in your taxable income for the year. The $5,250 annual maximum applies to the combination of amounts you receive through Tuition Reimbursement, Tuition Assistance through Guild Learning Marketplace and Student Loan Repayment. Any amount over $5,250 per year will be included in your taxable income, as required by the IRS.
  • Work Commitment: OU Health requires a two-year work commitment following an academic program completion or from the final benefit payment for employees who participate in these programs. If you leave prior to the two-year work commitment, all or a portion of the funds received will be required to be paid back to OU Health (See the Loan Repayment Schedule chart below).

We’re committed to your growth, and these programs represent a significant investment in your future. Understanding these requirements helps ensure you can take full advantage of the benefits available to you.

Student Loan Repayment (SLRP)

Ease Your Financial Load

Student loan debt shouldn’t hold you back from building the life you want. OU Health’s student loan repayment program helps ease the financial and emotional stress of student debt. This is our investment in your financial freedom and the future you worked hard to achieve.

SLRP Eligibility

  • Specific roles/positions eligible:
    • Advanced Practice Providers (APPs): Job Family in Workday: APRN and Physician Assistant
    • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs): Job Family in Workday: APRN and Physician Assistant

  • Payments increase over a maximum period of five years or until your loan is fully paid, whichever comes first.
    • Maximum benefit is $25,000, or your full loan balance, if less than $25,000.
